Our Approach

Based on international standards and proven results from similar programs in the USA, we've defined a clear road map to kick-start iwant2bike2work in key Asian cities. It's built in three phases:

Phase 1: Perform the "Bikeabaility Checklist" in each city where we want to get this movement started. A group of individual cyclists living in various parts of the city will ride their bikes to work, after which they'll rate the access route to their central business district using a uniform checklist. [link to checklist should go here] Based on the results of the "Bikeability Checklist", local chapter organizers will create an Action Plan to include both near-term improvements and longer-term initiatives for building and promoting sustainability.

Phase 2: Initiate Change
Once the Action Plan has been defined the next phase starts: defining in each movement city how to organize, grow the bicycle advocacy organization, acquire resources and work with the key influencers and authorities.

Phase 3: Sustaining and Growing
This phase will educate the movement organization on the mechanics of the membership and fundraising trade – the essential work needed to ensure the movement is equipped with the computers, staff, volunteers and members who will all play important roles in sustaining the life of the movement.
